What is the FORTIFIED Roof™ Program?

This initiative aims to provide wind mitigation for existing, owner-occupied, single-family homes in our service area. The program is funded by the insurance industry and ensures that the work completed on your home meets the rigorous FORTIFIED Roof™ standard. For detailed information about FORTIFIED roofs, visit www.fortifiedhome.org.

Benefits of a FORTIFIED Roof™

Opting for a FORTIFIED Roof™ designation not only enhances the safety and durability of your home but can also yield financial benefits. Homes with this designation may qualify for discounts on the wind portion of homeowner’s insurance. Moreover, recent research conducted by The University of Alabama indicates that homes with a FORTIFIED Roof™ sell for approximately 7% more than those without.

  • Habitat typically obtains three bids from qualified contractors and selects the lowest bid.
