A Elrod man was killed after a single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County Friday afternoon.

Brandon Bailey, Senior Trooper for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers, said a single-vehicle crash involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that occurred at approximately 3 p.m. Friday, March 29, has claimed the life of an Elrod man.

Richard L. Hudson, 60, was fatally injured when the Coolster four-wheeler ATV that he was operating was struck by a 2009 Ford Escape driven by Nicole M. Halloran, 31, of Gordo. Hudson was not wearing a helmet at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Tuscaloosa County 140 near Elrod Road, approximately two miles west of Buhl, in Tuscaloosa County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
