A 70-year-old man was killed Monday in a single-vehicle accident in Marengo County near Uniontown, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers have confirmed.

Trooper Reginal King, an ALEA spokesman for West Alabama, said Leroy Mcghee, 70, was driving a 1989 Ford Ranger on Marengo County Road 53 when his truck left the roadway and struck a tree.

Mcghee was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

King said the wreck took place around five miles north of Uniontown.

Mcghee was a resident of Dayton, Alabama, also in Marengo County.

No further details were available Tuesday evening as State Troopers continue to investigate the accident.
