An 87-year-old Tuscaloosa man was killed Monday night in a collision on Highway 69, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

Trooper Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Troopers in West Alabama, said the victim, Frederick Carr, was driving a 2015 Honda Odyssey on Highway 69 around seven miles south of the Tuscaloosa city limits when his van collided with a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a 64-year-old Greensboro man.

Carr was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger in his van was injured in the wreck. The driver of the F-150 was also injured. Both were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment.

King said the wreck took place around 6:05 p.m. Monday.

Nothing further was available Tuesday afternoon as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.
