Alabama Aims For 14 Straight Wins Against Mississippi State
The Alabama Crimson Tide has won 13 straight against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. This streak will be put on the line as the Tide enters Davis-Wade Stadium on Saturday night for an intriguing match-up with the Bulldogs.
This rivalry known as the “Battle for Highway 82” or the “90 Mile Drive,” has not been much of a rivalry lately. Throughout this streak Alabama has won handily in most of these contests, but the Bulldogs have almost pulled the upset a few times. Most recently, in 2017 the Tide escaped Starkville with a 31-24 win over Nick Fitzgerald and the Bulldogs.
The last time that the Tide fell to the Bulldogs was on Nov. 10, 2007, when MSU earned a 17-12 win in Starkville in Nick Saban’s first year as Alabama head coach.
The Crimson Tide looks to bounce back after losing a tough one in College Station to Texas A&M.
The Tide has not been solid on the road which is evident by the narrow 31-29 win over Florida and the 41-38 loss against the Aggies.
Another road game in a hostile environment awaits the Crimson Tide once again in "Starkvegas," where the home fans and cowbells will be loud and present. The Tide must make adjustments on the road to defeat a confident, well-rested Mississippi State team that recently beat Texas A&M.
Nick Saban, Will Anderson Jr, and many others in this Crimson Tide program have all expressed their frustrations from the last game and are looking forward to bouncing back.
In 2019, after the Crimson Tide suffered a tough loss to LSU, they rebounded in Starkville with a 38-7 win over the Bulldogs.
Will Alabama use Starkville to bounce back once again and earn their 14th straight win over Mississippi State?
This game kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
