This team will feature sixteen veterans, led by the defending NCAA cross country champion Mercy Chelangat. Chelangat is the first women's SEC individual cross country champion for Alabama since 1993.

All American's Esther Gitahi and Amaris Tyynismaa will also be key returners that look to improve on the eighth place finish from last year. The women's squad will welcome five newcomers to the team.

The men's team is ranked fourth in the South Region Preseason Poll after finishing tenth in the SEC championships last year. They are picked to finish third in the SEC this season.

This team will have ten returners, led by All-SEC performer Eliud Kipsang. Last year's SEC Championships were the first for over half of the men's squad and the veterans look to improve on that tenth place SEC finish. The men's squad will welcome nine newcomers to the team.

The Crimson Tide will open the 2021 season in Memphis at the Memphis Twilight on Saturday, Sept. 4. They will hope to conclude the season in Tallahassee at the NCAA Championships.
