The Alabama Crimson Tide is currently dominating the Vanderbilt Commodores 41-3 through three quarters of action. The Tide has played a relatively clean game without any real setbacks but unfortunately it appears as if a key defensive contributor will be lost for the remainder of the game.

Senior starting defensive end Byron Young was helped off the field with 5:21 left in the 3rd quarter after rushing Vanderbilt quarterback AJ Swann. Young spent several minutes in the sideline injury tent and then was taken on a golf cart back to the Crimson Tide locker room.

According to the Crimson Tide Sports Network radio team, Young appears to have suffered a right foot injury.

Through the first three games of the season Young had accumulated 9 tackles with two for a loss and one quarterback hurry. He had yet to appear on the stat sheet against Vanderbilt.

Stay tuned to Tide100.9 and the Tuscaloosa Thread for updates on Young's status as they are made available but it appears as if the senior lineman is, at the least, done for the evening.
