When it comes to late night cravings and drive thru desserts, Alabama apparently has a favorite.

New data from Google Search trends analyzed fast food dessert searches across the country over the past year, and Alabama residents searched for Taco Bell’s Cinnamon Twists more than any other sweet treat.

According to the study from Yay! Coloring Pages, Taco Bell’s Cinnamon Twists were also the top searched dessert in Missouri, New Mexico and Tennessee.

The research looked at more than 30 popular fast food desserts and tracked which menu items generated the most search interest in each state.

Nationwide, McDonald’s Oreo McFlurry took the top spot overall, leading searches in six states including Texas, Florida and Illinois. Arby’s Jamocha Shake and Subway’s Footlong Cookie followed close behind.

The study also found that many states showed strong regional loyalty when it came to desserts. California and Nevada leaned toward In-N-Out’s Neapolitan Shake, while North Carolina favored Bojangles’ Bo-Berry Biscuit.

For Alabama, though, the crunchy cinnamon coated Taco Bell classic came out on top.

Whether it’s nostalgia, a quick sweet snack after tacos or just a longtime favorite, one thing is clear: Alabama’s sweet tooth still has love for Cinnamon Twists.
