Alabama Men’s Basketball Falls in AP Top 25
The Alabama men's basketball team (11-4) fell to No. 24 in the AP Top 25 poll, its lowest ranking this season. This comes after its 92-86 loss to the Missouri Tigers on Saturday, the first SEC loss for the Tide this season.
Alabama started at No. 14 in the pre-season poll, moved up as far as No. 6 and as low as No. 19, but have consistently stayed in the rankings the entire season thus far.
The Crimson Tide started off hot this season, going 8-1 and only documenting a loss to Iona. They recorded some huge wins against No. 3 Gonzaga, the runner-up in last seasons March Madness Tournament, and to No. 14 Houston. However, since its upset to Memphis on the road, the Tide has gone 3-2, with losses to Davidson and Missouri, and are 1-1 on the road.
UA remains undefeated in home games.
Unfortunately for the Tide, the schedule continues to get tougher, including having to play: two games against No. 18 Kentucky, No. 4 Auburn, No. 12 LSU, and a huge matchup against the defending national champions, No. 1 Baylor.
This week, the Tide faces No. 4 Auburn on Tuesday in Tuscaloosa, and travel to Starkville to face Mississippi State on Saturday. The Auburn game tips off at 8 p.m. CST on ESPN and the Mississippi State game tips off at 5 p.m. CST on SEC Network.
