The list looks solid to this southern foodie. All seven restaurants have been added to my foodie bucket list.
Number One: The original Dreamland barbecue in Tuscaloosa. Since 1958
These hickory-fired ribs have dominated the barbecue scene.
Number Two: Martin's restaurant Montgomery.
The crispy fried chicken is legendary.
Number Three: Little Libby's Catfish in Madison, Alabama.
Whole and filet fried catfish served with slaw and hushpuppies. None finer anywhere.
Number Four: Zach's Family Restaurant in Dothan. Famous for fried green tomatoes & southern veggies.
Number Five: Ted's in Birmingham. This is a cafeteria-style restaurant. The best meat and three around.
Number Six: Dock’s Seafood Shack and Oyster Bar in Orange Beach, Alabama. Famous for their fried shrimp and other seafood dishes.
Number Seven: Saw’s Soul Kitchen in Birmingham. The best banana pudding you ever ate.
