Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide are one step closer to finalizing this season's roster.

St. Bonaventure transfer Dominick Welch announced his commitment to Alabama on Wednesday, becoming the second player to join the Tide from the transfer portal this offseason.

Welch, who joined the Bonnies in 2018 as a three-star recruit, stands at 6-foot-5, 205 lbs. and should help alleviate some of the issues the Tide struggled with last season.

As a senior at St. Bonaventure in 2021, Welch averaged 12.3 points per game while shooting over 41% from the field and nearly 40% from three.

Alabama in 2021 underwhelmed from three-point land, shooting just 30.9% as a team from beyond the arc. With the departure of players like Jaden Shackelford and Keon Ellis, who were two of the team's top shooters, the Tide will need to replace some high level production and Welch could step in and do just that.

The Buffalo, NY native joins a Crimson Tide class headlined by five-stars Brandon Miller and Jaden Bradley, as well as fellow transfer Mark Sears, who is expected to be a big time contributor this year.
