The Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team (12-3, 7-0) put on a shooting exhibition in Baton Rouge en route to a 105-75 blowout win over the LSU Tigers (10-3, 5-2). Alabama set an SEC record by making 23 3-point shots and remained undefeated in conference play.

The Crimson Tide jumped out to a quick 23-6 lead after five minutes of play thanks to five straight 3-pointers by reigning SEC Player of the Week John Petty Jr. Petty finished the game with 24 points with eight 3-point shots made.

The Crimson Tide reset its own SEC record of 3-point shots made, the previous record of 22 was set in a loss to the Auburn Tigers last season. In tonight's record breaking performance Alabama received contributions from deep from the entire roster, Petty made eight, Jahvon Quinerly and Josh Primo each made six, Darius Miles made two and Herb Jones added one.

Alabama entered the game ranked in the top-25 for the first time since 2017 and didn't falter under expectations as the Tide took a 60-32 into the locker room after making 13 of its 19 3-point attempts in the first half.

The Crimson Tide is now on an eight-game winning streak including winning the first seven conference games in the 2020-21 season. Alabama now has a two-game lead in the SEC for first place and now owns the tie-breaker over second place LSU and third place Tennessee.

Alabama will put its perfect conference record on the line again on Saturday as the Crimson Tide will return to Coleman Coliseum to host the Mississippi State Bulldogs (9-6, 4-3) at 5:00 p.m. The game will be televised on the SECnetwork and can be heard on the radio on 95.3 The Bear.
