Alabama Pavilion Opens at Great American State Fair

Governor Kay Ivey has announced Alabama's participation in the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C., as part of the nation's celebration of America's 250th anniversary.

In a statement Thursday, Ivey said Alabama is proud to represent the state during the nationwide celebration, giving visitors from across the country and around the world an opportunity to experience Alabama's history, culture and contributions.

"Alabama is proud to be a part of America's 250th birthday celebration in our nation's capital," Ivey said. "People from all over the world will be able to witness our state's diverse strengths and rich history."

The Great American State Fair is being held on the National Mall from June 25 through July 10. The free event features exhibits from all 56 states and U.S. territories, highlighting the people, traditions and landscapes that make each unique while celebrating the country's shared identity. Although admission is free, organizers encourage visitors to register in advance.

Alabama's pavilion showcases the state's agricultural heritage, aerospace and defense industries, civil rights history and musical legacy. Visitors can also enjoy interactive photo opportunities, Alabama-themed giveaways and a larger-than-life cutout of Governor Ivey.

According to the governor's office, the exhibit is designed to highlight Alabama as a state where tradition and innovation come together while celebrating the people, industries and milestones that continue to shape both Alabama and the nation.
