After the Crimson Tide's big win against the Kentucky Wildcats this past Tuesday, shooting guard, Herb Jones stated a few key points as to how they pulled this win off.

During their post game interview, Jones and Jaden Shackelford were asked how the team came together in the second half of the game. If you watched the game, you know that the Tide struggled more on offense during the first half against the Wildcats. Jones responded by saying,

"Well we came into the huddle, and we just reminded each other that we know how to win these games and we sort of rallied together in that moment. We decided that we needed to come out with that 'winning' mentality and that's what we did, we came out and got stops."

The Tide came back out with an 18-to-5 run after being down by two in the second half. Jones finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and two steals against the Wildcats. John Petty finished with 10 points and four rebounds. Although the Tide struggled offensively during the first half of the game, their defense proved significant in this matchup. With Jones leading the Tide this year in steals and rebounds, he has shown just how important he is to this season.

Alabama basketball has slowly been on the rise during these past few weeks, with this season being their best in over a decade. The leadership and mentality that coach Oats and the players have spoken about is truly driving this team, and Alabama fans hope to see that drive take them all the way to the top this year.
