Alpha Phi Alpha Working With Community Organizations To Feed Tuscaloosa Community
Serving the community is nothing new to the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Soon, they'll team up with community organizations for a much-needed event.
Saturday, July 10th, the Delta Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc will host a community feeding event at the Temporary Emergency Services of West Alabama 1705 15th st, in Tuscaloosa. Food will begin being distributed at 10a and the event will end at noon or until the food runs out.
There will also be free COVID-19 vaccines administered as well as COVID-19 information all provided by Whatley Helth Services.
The Community Service chair for the Alpha Phi Alpha chapter, Marques Phillips spoke on why they're doing this event. "We want to give back to the community. We know that COVID-19 has definitely hit a lot of families in the Tuscaloosa area pretty hard," Marques said. "We're going to have food trucks to come out and we're going to be giving away free food."
Whatley health services will be onsite as well giving out information about the COVID-19 shots. It's no secret that a lot of people in our community have lots of questions about the COVID-19 vaccine. This event will help answer some of those questions with professionals who actually know about the vaccine.
Grab a friend and come out to Temporary Emergency Services of West Alabama on July 10th for this amazing free event. Did we mention that The Big Dawg DreDay will be providing the music at this event? Free food, great music, and helpful information. There's no better way to spend your Saturday morning!
