Arick Evans Jr. Is Impacting The Alabama Community At A Young Age

Black History Maker of Alabama-  Arick Evans Jr.

Arick Evans Jr. was born on March 19, 2001 in the “Friendly City” of Columbus, Mississippi.  He is the son of Rhonda Evans and Arick Evans. Arick graduated from Columbus High School with honors in 2019.  He managed a 3.5 while also being a student athlete.  He developed a strong passion for music production while he was in high school.  Arick always loved to travel, shop, and try different foods.

When it came to college,  Stillman College was Arick’s top choice. He decided to study Psychology as his major when he committed to Stillman.  As a Criminal Justice major and member of Omega Psi Phi,  Arick displayed his academic excellence by earning the highest GPA in his fraternity's chapter and overall undergraduate chapters of Omega Psi Phi in the state of Alabama. 

Since then, he has earned a numerous amount of scholarships and awards due to him excelling in the classroom.  Arick also served as the NPHC representative for Stillman College in the 2021-2022 school year. 

In his junior year, Arick was elected as the 2nd Mister Stillman College.  With this role, he also took the duty of being the Student Director of the Black Male Initiative. 

"The Southern states in general had such a strong influence in black history.  The legendary moments that our people created will forever be remembered for generations to come."

Since being nominated as Mister Stillman College, Arick has hosted multiple events for the Tuscaloosa community such as a Juneteenth Festival Weekend which included a basketball tournament, black arts festival, and a Sunday morning church service. 

Arick partnered with Miss Stillman College on their Inaugural Tools For School Drive.  During this event, they supplied over 600 book bags to the Tuscaloosa area filled with school supplies. 

After college, Arick plans to find a job dealing with fingerprint analysis.  Arick’s favorite quote is “Hard times create strong men, strong men create easy times, easy times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.”
