Bottoms Up Diaper Bank Seeks Donations for Local Families

A local nonprofit is asking West Alabama residents to help keep babies clean, healthy and supplied with essential items through a month-long community donation drive.

Bottoms Up Diaper Bank is holding a September Donation Drive to restock its shelves with diapers and other necessities distributed to families experiencing diaper need.

The organization collects and distributes diapers and essential baby supplies to local families through partnerships with agencies, community organizations and supporters.

Throughout September, the diaper bank is asking residents to donate diapers, training pants, unscented baby wipes and diaper rash cream. According to the organization, some of its most-needed items include diapers in sizes 4, 5 and 6 and training pants in sizes 2/3T, 3/4T and 4/5T.

Community members can participate in several ways. Organizers suggest adding an extra package of diapers or wipes while shopping, starting a collection at a church, school or workplace, making a financial contribution or helping spread awareness about the drive.

The effort coincides with National Diaper Need Awareness Week, observed Sept. 14-20 this year, which brings attention to families who struggle to consistently afford enough diapers and related supplies for their children.

Bottoms Up Diaper Bank says its mission is to ensure babies have access to clean diapers while helping reduce one financial concern for families.
