Alabama super senior and Tuscaloosa-native Brian Robinson has taken the lead in the Crimson Tide backfield through two games in 2021. Robinson has taken 22 carries for 130 yards and one touchdown as the No. 1 back in a four player stable.

Robinson has been imposing his will on opposing defenses but Alabama head coach Nick Saban would like to see his running back implement more moves to elude defenders in the open field.

"B-Rob played really well in the game, was very physical, hard to tackle, trying to work on his avoid a little bit so maybe he can make them miss in space a little better," said Saban on "Hey Coach" last Thursday.

Robinson is joined by super senior Chris Owens as the most experienced members on the 2021 offense. The pair will be leading the Bama offense against the No. 36 ranked defense against the run in the Florida Gators. The Gators have allowed 93.5 yards per game playing FAU and USF in the first two weeks.

“He (Coach Saban) wants me to work on avoiding tackles. Not being as physical all the time, but sometimes if I can avoid tackles or make people miss…I should work on trying to make people miss instead of always being so physical and taking so many hits all the time. That’s something I can work on to be more effective in the open field, making people miss," said Robinson on Tuesday.

The Crimson Tide has rushed for 305 yards and three touchdowns as a team. Robinson's longest rush of the season thus-far is 19 yards, if he can implement a little shake 'n bake in his game he could provide the Tide with a dynamic running back to rely on this season.
