Keep those coats and mittens handy for a few more days. Alabamians woke up to very chilly temperatures this morning. Tuscaloosa, right before sunrise, was at 34 degrees.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has upgraded the previous Freeze Watch for Saturday to a “Freeze Warning for all of Central AL Friday night and Saturday morning. Temperatures will fall into the mid-20s to low 30s.”

Timeframe:

Saturday, April 3, 2021, from 1 am until 9 am.

What to do now:

It would help if you were to protect outdoor animals, plants, and plumbing from these potential freezing conditions. Prepare now because freezing and the potential for bursting water pipes is not ideal.
