Families across West Alabama have a chance to give their kids a strong academic boost this summer without spending a dime.

C&J Resources is hosting a free raffle contest that will award a free summer workshop of choice, including reading, math, or STEM. The goal is simple. Make quality academic support more accessible while helping students stay sharp during the summer months.

Owner and founder Chante Rice says the idea came from a real need in the community.

“We created this raffle to make our summer workshops more accessible and to give families in West Alabama an opportunity to experience high quality academic support at no cost,” Rice said. “Many students in our area need extra help in reading, math, and STEM, especially during the summer when learning loss can happen. This raffle is our way of giving back to the community while also encouraging families to stay engaged in learning.”

The workshops are designed to do more than just review schoolwork. Students get structured instruction, hands on activities, and personalized support in small group settings.

“These workshops are extremely beneficial because they provide students with structured instruction, hands on activities, and personalized support in a small group setting,” Rice said. “Our reading and math workshops help strengthen foundational skills and build confidence, while our STEM workshop exposes students to creativity, problem solving, and critical thinking.”

She adds that programs like this can help close learning gaps and prepare students for the next school year while keeping learning fun.

To enter the raffle, families need to like the C&J Resources Facebook page, tag a friend in the comments of the raffle post, and share the post.

The raffle ends April 30, 2026.
