Coolest Towns to Visit in 2021 and One Is Just 4 Hours Away

The COVID-19 pandemic has genuinely altered the way most of us live our lives. For me, it has impacted my ability to travel. I miss that.

As much as I love to explore new cities, visit my family and friends. I miss checking out unique museums. I’m trying my best to stay safe during these uncertain times.

Even before the pandemic, I started to “not” enjoy flying. I’m not scared to fly, but it just became so cumbersome. Honestly, I rather drive.

Driving is my thing now. You never know what you might see along the open road. That’s why I was super excited that the Matador Network released its “25 coolest towns in America to visit in 2021.” I’ve already been to some on the list, and one cute city is just four hours away.

Let me introduce to you Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Most Alabamians love the Gulf Coast, and this town has a population of 17.809. According to Google Maps, it’s a four-hour drive from Tuscaloosa.

I can’t wait to drive on down to the quaint beach town. Listen, Ocean Springs had me at the word “beach.” Matador notes that “Ocean Springs sits just across the bridge from the mega-casinos of Biloxi and is the essence of a Southern weekend getaway, with a heavy dose of art thrown in.”

Wow, art! I’m so there. Toss in “streetside musicians, downtown galleries and immaculate attention to decoration are what Ocean Springs so special.”
