Following a deadly shooting at CRU Lounge in Tuscaloosa, the establishment officially released a public statement on the incident.

"This should not have happened," a statement said in a post to CRU Lounge's Instagram page.

"What should have been an enjoyable night out at CRU Lounge where everyone was able to return to their homes safely, turned into tragedy because of the rouge and violent actions of Arron Dewayne Hill."

As reported by The Tuscaloosa Thread, 35-year-old Arron Dewayne Hill, a security guard at CRU Lounge in southern Tuscaloosa was charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed unarmed Rashid Little, age 28.

"Mr. Hill was an independently contracted security professional who was charged with protecting our patrons and our establishment. Mr. Hill violated his obligation to CRU and our patrons when he senselessly took the life of Mr. Little following their verbal altercation," the statement from CRU Lounge stated.

According to the post on the establishment's Instagram page, they are temporarily closed.

 

As previously reported by the Tuscaloosa Thread, Jack Kennedy, the commander of the VCU, said Hill fled the scene after the shooting but was located this morning with a woman who had been with him at the time of the shooting.

"After interviewing them, they were both arrested," Kennedy said.

Hill was charged with one count of murder.  The woman, Thyais Walker, was charged with illegally possessing a pistol because she is reportedly a felon.
