Danny Brown, Scarlxrd, Peewee Longway and More: New Projects This Week
Several anticipated projects premiered over the course of the last seven days. Look below to check out all of the freshly released albums, mixtapes and EPs of the week.
Danny Brown is back. For his fifth studio album, uknowhatimsayin¿, the Detroit rapper links up with hip-hop legend Q-Tip. The 2012 XXL Freshman credits the A Tribe Called Quest member as an inspiration and an executive producer on the first Danny Brown album in three years. Songs like “Best Life,” “Dirty Laundry” and “3 Tearz” with Run The Jewels are featured on the project, which is said to be focused on “dope rhymes.” Blood Orange and JPEGMAFIA, who shows out on “Negro Spiritual,” also appear on the 11-track album.
Months after delivering Infinity, Scarlxrd returns to deliver Immxrtalisatixn. The new 24-track album by the 24-year-old former YouTuber from Wolverhampton, England includes the records “Backwards,” “Gxing the Distance” and “Up.Up.Up,” which were released prior to the project’s American debut.
Peewee Longway and Money Man are two artists that have managed to keep the trap jumping over the last few years. After delivering solo projects like Longway’s The Blue M&M 4 and Man’s Paranoia earlier this year, the “Fiji Water” rapper and the “Money Man Perry” rhymer keep the momentum going by joining forces to craft Long Money. The tandem’s new mixtape features 20 songs, as well as contributions from other collaborators such as Young Dolph, Kamaiyah and Jackboy, and producers Cassius Jay, Detail and Yung Lan.
