The DCH System reported a record-high 112 patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19 were hospitalized in the Tuscaloosa area Friday afternoon.

In one of his twice-daily updates, DCH spokesperson Andy North shared data that showed 112 inpatients were being treated for the coronavirus Friday.

The previous record was set in late July when the system reported 110 COVID-19 patients in its hospitals.

This is also the first time the inpatient count has exceeded 100 people since early August.
