Dollar Stop Celebrates 1 Year With Free Community Event in T-Town

For many of us, April of 2020 just reminds us of the start of the pandemic. For this Tuscaloosa business, it was the start of a new chapter.

Dollar Stop in Tuscaloosa will celebrate its 1st anniversary by having a customer appreciation event. Sunday, April 11th, 2021 from 2 pm-6 pm, they will hold a free event for the community with music, free food, and plenty of activities for the kids. The event's location is 1000 MLK JR BLVD. Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.

The store announced the event on its Facebook page. This event will not only be its 1st anniversary but will also serve as their grand opening!

I got a chance to speak to Dollar Stop store owner April about her journey so far. She described how great it feels to make it through the pandemic, especially since she opened it while in its middle.

Opening a business during a pandemic seems very out of the ordinary. I'd describe it as different. April likes doing things differently as she told me this customer appreciation is very different. "I wanted to do something different since I didn't have an official grand opening. This will be our grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony," face painting, shaved ice, bounce houses, and more. All of the activities are completely free for the community!

If you want to celebrate local businesses and have some fun with the family, this sounds like the event for you!
