The Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is hosting “Laughter for a Cause” to benefit Turning Point.

Turning Point’s mission is to “provide comprehensive quality services to primary and secondary victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and empower them to improve their lives.”

“Laughter for a Cause” is tonight, Friday, October 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Christian Community Church Life Center located at 5600 18th Avenue in Tuscaloosa.

The comedy show will be hosted by Townsquare Media’s 105.1 The Block personality Comedian LP. Serving up the laughs will be Comedian Shawn Crosskey, Comedian Sumter County, and Comedienne Felicia.

“Turning Point is a wonderful organization that assists victims of domestic violence and sexual assault,” said Comedian LP. He also feels that it is important to support their efforts and will continue to volunteer to help the cause.

There will be free admission for those who bring a donated item to assist Turning Point.

2023-2023 Rising Star Character Students of the Month

During the 2022-2023 school year, Tuscaloosa City Schools, along with Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa, Legal Services of Alabama and Child Abuse Prevention Services, will highlight Rising Star Character Students of the Month from each school in the district, highlighting two to three students each month.
