Strawberry season is getting its own spotlight in Tuscaloosa with a brand new event focused on local flavor and community fun.

The City of Tuscaloosa Farmers Market will host its inaugural Strawberry Fest on Tuesday, April 21 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tuscaloosa River Market. The event will highlight local strawberry farmers while bringing together a mix of vendors, food, and entertainment.

According to the press release, the festival will feel similar to the weekly Saturday market but with a seasonal twist, featuring strawberry-themed baked goods and homemade treats throughout the venue.

Several local farms, including Penton Farms, Hale Farms, and JJ’s Produce, will be on-site offering fresh strawberries. Other vendors like Beck’s Blissful Bites, Sweet Daddy’s Sweet Potato Pies, and Poppin’ Sisters Popcorn & Treats will add to the lineup with a variety of sweet and savory options.

Families can also enjoy free activities, including face painting from Paint Misbehavin’ and a mobile petting zoo from Faith and Feathers Squeals on Wheels. A strawberry mascot is also expected to make appearances during the event.
