Fetty Wap, Ying Yang Twins Coming to Tuscaloosa
A major hip-hop concert is coming to Tuscaloosa this fall, bringing a multi-platinum rapper and a legendary Atlanta duo to the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater.
Fetty Wap will headline a concert at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater on Friday, Nov. 27, with special guests Ying Yang Twins and 2Checks. The show is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
The announcement brings one of the most recognizable voices of the mid-2010s hip-hop era to Tuscaloosa. Fetty Wap exploded onto the national music scene with his 2015 self-titled debut album, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
The New Jersey rapper’s breakthrough run included several major singles, led by “Trap Queen,” which earned Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. His other hits include “679” and “Again,” helping the artist accumulate billions of streams and video views throughout his career.
Joining Fetty Wap in Tuscaloosa will be the Ying Yang Twins, the Atlanta hip-hop duo known for a string of club hits from the 2000s.
The duo’s catalog includes “Salt Shaker,” “Wait (The Whisper Song)” and “Shake.” They are also widely known for their appearance on Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz’s “Get Low,” one of the signature records of the crunk era.
2Checks will also perform as part of the Nov. 27 lineup.
Fans interested in attending will not have to wait long to purchase tickets. Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. No presale will be offered for the concert.
$30 All-in student tickets will be available in section 205. Students may buy tickets online and use their student email to access the special offer.
Tickets will be available online exclusively through Ticketmaster or in person at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater Box Office. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The Nov. 27 concert adds another major entertainment event to the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater calendar and gives Tuscaloosa hip-hop fans a chance to hear hits spanning multiple eras of the genre in one night.
