Alabama Student’s Artwork Coming to Tuscaloosa Gallery
A University of Alabama student will showcase her artistic talents in a new exhibition coming to downtown Tuscaloosa this November.
The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa will present "Forget Me Knots," featuring multimedia artwork by Rose Kimbrough, at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center from November 6 through December 16, 2026.

The exhibition will officially open Friday, November 6, at 5 p.m. during downtown Tuscaloosa's free First Friday Art Walk. The artwork will also be featured during the December 4 First Friday event.
Kimbrough, a Birmingham native and University of Alabama New College student, created the exhibition as part of her undergraduate thesis presentation.
"Forget Me Knots" explores memories and their connections to places through artwork created using recycled and rescued paper scraps, plexiglass etchings, screenprints and monotype printing techniques.
The artist collects discarded paper from studios throughout Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, combining and sanding the materials before layering new images.
Her pieces incorporate shapes inspired by memories and locations, including tree branches, crumbling archways and expanding kudzu.
By combining two-dimensional and three-dimensional techniques, Kimbrough creates compositions that explore the relationship between physical materials, human intervention and memory.
A 2024 graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts, Kimbrough studies human biology, public art and studio art through UA's interdisciplinary New College program while pursuing a minor in Art History.
Her artistic accomplishments include awards, grants and participation in regional exhibitions.
Admission to "Forget Me Knots" is free. Regular gallery hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
The Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center is located at 620 Greensboro Avenue in downtown Tuscaloosa.
