The pandemic is not over yet, despite the vaccine and even some states trying to relax social distancing guidelines and even eliminating masks. It is still critically important to get tested for yourself, your family and your community.

We need to stay safe and continue to wear our masks, wash our hands, practice social distance, stay at home and hand sanitize as much as possible. I encourage you to get tested especially if have symptoms and sign up to the vaccine once you have been tested.

The Jerusalem A.M.E Zion Church is teaming up with the American Medical Screening, Inc. to provide a FREE COVID-19 testing clinic. The event will offer walk up and drive-thru services for you. The testing will be held Saturday March 13, 2021, from 11:00am until 2:00 pm.  Jerusalem A.M.E Zion Church is located on 5200 12th Avenue East in Tuscaloosa as you approach the old Dreamland BBQ.

The bishops of the district of the A.M.E. Zion Church in Tuscaloosa such as Rev. Dr. Jeffrey L. Cammon and Bishop Seth Lartey encourages everyone to attend the clinic to get tested especially if you feel you have symptoms. The African American community and other minorities are at greater risk due to preexisting conditions. It is vital to eat healthy, drink water, exercise, get regular check ups and social distance during the pandemic to fight COVID-19. Most importantly if you are age 65 and older you need to sign up to receive the vaccine.

If you do not have insurance its no problem! All are welcome to test and no appointment is necessary. You just need a photo ID and insurance card if you have medical insurance.

For more information on testing contact the Jerusalem A.M.E. Zion Church and the American Medical Screening at 205-737-5634.
