Free Virtual Diabetes Prevention Class for Alabamians

I am not about New Year's resolutions. However, I did make a promise to myself to take better care of myself in 2021. Health is at the top of the priority list.

An alarming fact from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention is that “34.2 million Americans—just over 1 in 10—have diabetes.” Also, “88 million American adults—approximately 1 in 3—have prediabetes.” What’s further distressing is that most are unaware of being prediabetes.

In the world of a pandemic, many services are being offered virtually. Whatley Health Services is offering classes virtually to help you prevent type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases. Click here to answer some questions to see if the FREE program is for you.

I look at being diagnosed with prediabetes as a being put on notice like it’s time to get my act together. I know through reliable information that changes now can improve my health. Eating better, increasing my physical activity, and losing weight can help me out.

Click here for the Free Virtual Diabetes Prevention classes Facebook Event. According to the details, “participants get their very own coach to teach them how to eat healthy foods and increase physical activity for a full year.”

According the Facebook Event, the program meets for “1 year with weekly meetings for the first four months, and then meetings twice a month for the following eight months to help maintain healthy lifestyle changes.” Get ready because this all kicks off Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
