Former UAB standout and current Arizona Cardinals cornerback Starling Thomas V is stepping up big for the holidays. His organization, The Starling Thomas Foundation, is hosting a special event called The Gift of Giving and it's all to celebrate and support single mothers in Birmingham.

The event is set for Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at Ramsay High School 1800 13th Avenue South, and everything is completely free for single moms. Kids are able to attend if needed, making sure no family misses out on the joy.

Single mothers who attend will be able to select gifts while supplies last, wrap those presents themselves at the gift-wrapping stations, and enjoy fun-filled, relaxing activities meant to provide some relief and encouragement during a busy season.

“The holiday season is about giving, but it’s also about love, support, and community,” said Starling Thomas V, according to the press release sent to Townsquare Media. “We want every single mother who attends to feel valued, celebrated, and reminded that they are not alone. This event is our way of showing appreciation and bringing joy.”

The heart behind The Gift of Giving is to honor the strength and resilience of single mothers the women who make it happen every single day even when the world doesn’t see it.

Registration is required for participation. Anyone interested in attending or supporting the event is encouraged to sign up early.
