Hot, Humid, and Potential For Thunderstorms

The joys of summertime in Alabama mean hot and humid weather. Today, Thursday August 13, 2020 you can add in a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service.  There is potential for “isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and early evening. Brief damaging wind gusts of 60 mph and hail up to quarter size could occur.”

Also, these potential storms could bring heavy rains and lighting associated with the stronger thunderstorms.  The timing for this weather scenario is in the afternoon.  Of course, we will keep you updated on our Townsquare Media radio stations and the Tuscaloosa Thread.  Be sure to download our free app, and be sure to sign up for our alerts.

Truthfully, outside of pandemic concerns, I have enjoyed this summer.  You will be happy to know that this weekend’s temperature highs will be in the 88-92 range.  However, my favorite season is approaching, which is Fall.  It’s not too far off.

Autumn kicks off Tuesday, September 22, 2020, and lasts until Monday, December 21, 2020.  It’s something about the weather in the fall that is invigorating.  For me, it’s a crispness that reminds me of football and marching band season weather.  Our area also has the concern of Fall severe weather season as well.
