Great news for students in Tuscaloosa County! A new initiative is making it easier for high school students to find local job opportunities. The Tuscaloosa County Commission, in partnership with West AlabamaWorks!, has rolled out the I.G.N.I.T.E. kiosk program in six high schools across the county.

These innovative kiosks are designed to connect students with available job openings right from their schools. By streamlining the job search process, students can now apply for positions with local employers conveniently and efficiently.

Probate Judge Rob Robertson, who championed this initiative, stated, “The I.G.N.I.T.E. Student jobs portal offers unmatched opportunities for our future workforce. After recognizing a workforce gap during COVID, I proposed this idea to West AlabamaWorks!, and they have exceeded every expectation.”

The I.G.N.I.T.E. kiosks are set to become a key resource, bridging the gap between education and real-world job experiences. This program will help students gain valuable work experience and contribute to their career readiness.

A press conference to launch the I.G.N.I.T.E. kiosks will be held at Hillcrest High School. Media members are welcome to attend and hear from key figures involved in the project.
