You'd like to run the Insane Inflatable 5K, but you're not in shape to run..... At all? Perfect!

Did you know that the average runner began as a walker? Of course you did! You know "you've gotta crawl before you can walk; you've gotta walk before you can run..." But I'm not talking about that.

According to Runner's World, the best way to become a runner is to begin with five minutes of walking and to gradually build up the running time alternated with a decreased time walking. A recommended plan is running for two minutes and then walking for four minutes over and over again until you've reached 30 minutes of activity. Increase the running time the next week to three minutes and decrease the walking time to three minutes. Follow the same pattern for the next week; but once you've increased your run time to five minutes, go back up to three minutes walking. Following the plan set at Runner's World, one should be a full-fledged runner in a short time.

Go ahead and incorporate the Insane Inflatable 5K into your plan. It'll be fun, and you'll also complete a 5K (in your own time, of course), a feat many runners set as a goal. Can you imagine how much of a confidence builder that is for the beginner? Do it!
