Earlier today, Walt Maddox, the Mayor of Tuscaloosa, joined Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa personality Steve Shannon from 95.3 The Bear.  The discussion was about the serious situation of flooding, potential flooding, and incoming severe weather.  Here is the full interview audio.

Mayor has asked residents to be weather aware even in times of flooding.

The Mayor encouraged residents to call 311 to report flooding and issues.

Expect disruption in environmental services like garbage, trash, and recycling this week.

According to the Tuscaloosa News, “The National Weather Service reported that 4.49 inches of rain fell in Tuscaloosa on Monday, a record for any Feb. 10 in recorded history. So far, 9.51 inches of rain have been recorded this month. ... The NWS reported that 16.14 inches have fallen in Tuscaloosa since Jan. 1, and 21.56 since Dec. 1.”
