Alabama Loses Sixth Wide Receiver To Transfer Portal
The Alabama Crimson Tide football program is in a period of transition where coaches and players are deciding what their futures will hold.
Alabama wide receiver Tyler Harrell took to Twitter to announce he has entered the transfer portal. Harrell spent one season with the Crimson Tide and appeared in five games.
Many fans expected Harrell to come in and provide deadly speed in the wide receiver room, however he battled several minor injuries to start the season and therefore could never consistently crack the lineup.
In his five appearances for the Crimson Tide he hauled in just two receptions for 18 yards. He made a reception against Austin Peay and Mississippi State.
He joins Aaron Anderson, Traeshon Holden, Christian Leary, JoJo Earle and Jacoby Boykin as receivers who have transferred out of Alabama this offseason, creating a huge void in terms of depth.
He came to the Tide from Louisville where he hauled in 18 receptions for 523 yards and six touchdowns in 2021. Harrell participated in Alabama's senior day in 2022 against Auburn and will now head to a new school.
