Alabama Playoff Legend Retires From NFL
The Alabama Crimson Tide is known for the high-caliber running backs that it puts into the NFL often. Alabama has a strong presence with running backs, with two of the Crimson Tide's Heisman Trophies being won by running backs, and the Crimson Tide boast multiple starting running backs in the NFL.
The Crismon Tide's running game was critical to the 45-40 victory over the Clemson Tigers in the 2015 College Football Playoff. Derrick henry won the Heisman Trophy that season, but Alabama's other running back, Kenyan Drake, was just as important to the Tide's championship run.
Drake totaled 2,065 total yards and 22 yards from scrimmage during four years at Alabama. While the stats don't jump off the page, his kick return touchdown against Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship helped propel Alabama to its 16th National Championship in school history.
Drake was drafted in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins. His miracle against Clemson wasn't the only miracle touchdown he had in his career, as the Miami Miracle was scored by Drake as well.
The official announcement came from Drake's personal instagram account.
Drake said it's been an incredible ride and he wouldn't change a thing in his post.
