Alabama Rises in the AP Poll Following Thrashing in Death Valley
The Crimson Tide climbed back into the top ten following Saturday night's 42-13 victory over the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, ending a four-week absence from the AP top ten.
LSU and Brian Kelly dropped seven spots following last night's loss, dropping from No. 14 to No. 21.
The Crimson Tide has four wins against current AP top-25 teams: No. 11 Georgia, No. 21 LSU, No. 23 South Carolina, and No. 24 Missouri. No other AP top-25 squad has more than two.
Alabama is the third-highest ranked SEC squad behind the Texas Longhorns (8-1) and the Tennessee Volunteers (8-1)
The Crimson Tide also rose to No. 9 in the Coaches Poll.
While the path to an SEC title game appearance remains slim, the road to the playoffs became simple after last night: win out.
Alabama takes on Mercer in Bryant-Denny next week.
