Alabama Shortstop Enters Transfer Portal
The offseason moves have begun for Alabama softball, but the first move struck a nerve with Crimson Tide fans, as sophomore starting shortstop Kenleigh Cahalan is entering the transfer portal, per D1Softball's Justin McLeod.
Per McLeod's tweet, "Cahalan owns a career .290 batting average, with 9 home runs, 24 doubles, and 65 runs scored.
Her dominance allowed Alabama to make its 15th Women's College World Series in program history and helped the Crimson Tide earn its first win in the WCWS since 2021.
The Crimson Tide finished the season 30-20 overall with a 10-14 record in conference play. Before arriving in Tuscaloosa, Cahalan was a star for Hewitt-Trussville High School. She was ranked the No. 1 overall player in the 2023 class by Perfect Game Softball and 2022 Alabama Miss Softball.
