The 6A Brookwood Panthers lost their eighth consecutive game of the season on Friday, October 11th, 2024, losing 49-13 at home to the Central Falcons on senior night.

The first quarter began with both offenses struggling to find their rhythm, with the first score coming at 1:17 in the first quarter when Brookwood took it for a 47-yard rushing touchdown for the first points of the game; after a successful PAT attempt, the Falcons led 7-0 with just over a minute remaining in the game.

Brookwood responded with a drive of their own, which ended from a two-yard touchdown rush by senior running back Jordan Riley, who tied the game at 7 with 8:11 left in the second quarter following the Panthers' successful PAT attempt.

Brookwood struggled after their only scoring drive in the first half, with the Falcons scoring 21 consecutive points and the Panthers unable to respond to Central's ferocious ground game, which saw the Falcons running back room score three touchdowns in the first half.

The second half was similar to the first half, with Brookwood failing to defend the run and producing no offensive productivity, with Brookwood not scoring another touchdown until late in the fourth quarter.

Central, on the other hand, did the opposite, with their running game firing on all cylinders, with the Falcons scoring three rushing touchdowns from three different running backs. Central went on to win 49-13, spoiling the Panther senior night and denying Brookwood its first win of the season.

Brookwood will travel to face the 6A Hueytown Gophers on Friday, October 18th in a 6A Region 4 showdown, with the Panthers in search of their first victory of the season.
