According to James Crepea of the Oregonian, former Alabama and Oregon cornerback Khyree Jackson passed away on Saturday due to an automobile accident.

The report was confirmed by Alec Lewis, who covers the Minnesota Vikings for The Athletic.

Jackson was 24 years old and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of April's NFL draft.

Jackson attended Fort Scott Community College and East Mississippi Community College before joining the Crimson Tide as a member of the 2021 recruiting class. He started one game for the Crimson Tide but played consistently among the secondary.

Jackson transferred to Oregon in 2023 and made an immediate impact as a starter for the Ducks. He was named All-Pac-12 first team by the coaches and the Associated Press.

He started all 12 games for Oregon in 2023 before participating in February's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama then the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana in March. He was the No. 108 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

Thoughts and prayers are with Crimson Tide, Ducks, and Vikings fanbases, as well as Jackson's family and friends.
