Former Alabama center Ross Pierschbacher has been released by the Detroit Lions.

The team made the announcement on Sunday.

#Lions have signed CB Colby Richardson and released C Ross Pierschbacher with an injury settlement," posted the Lions.

The 28-year-old reportedly suffered an injury in Detroit's 21-16 preseason win against the New York Giants on Friday night.

The Iowa native spent five seasons at the Capstone before being drafted as the No. 153 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by Washington.

Other stints in his career include the Philadelphia Eagles (2020) and New York Jets (2021-22).
