Former Alabama Guard Lands New Job

Former Alabama men's basketball guard Ronald Steele has been named the next principal at John Carroll Catholic High School in Birmingham, Ala.

"John Carroll Catholic High School, the largest and oldest Catholic high school in the Diocese of Birmingham, is proud to announce that Mr. Ronald Steele, Jr. is appointed Principal and Dr. Katie King is appointed Director, Curriculum and Instruction. They join Fr. Jon Chalmers, President, and Dr. Banyon Allison, Assistant Principal, in completing the leadership team for the 2023-2024 school year," said John Carroll's official press release.

Steele played for the Crimson Tide from 2004-09, averaging 10.7 points, 4.4 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game.

Steele graduated from John Carroll in 2004 and has served as the athletic director and boys basketball head coach of the Cavaliers since 2017.

"I'm both humbled and excited for the opportunity to serve as John Carroll's Principal. I intend to continue fulfilling John Carroll's mission of infusing God into all areas of the student experience to educate the whole person; in the model of Christ, in academic excellence, and through athletic and fine arts opportunities," said Steele.
