Former Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs has signed his rookie contract with the Detroit Lions on Monday.
"Gibbs, the No. 12 pick of April's draft, received a slotted four-year contract worth $17.845 million. The deal is fully guaranteed, includes a signing bonus of $9.978 million and a team option for 2027," wrote Dave Birkett from the Detroit Free Press on the signing.
Gibbs played at the Capstone in 2022 after transferring from Georgia Tech. He recorded 151 rush attempts for 926 yards and seven touchdowns, as well as 44 receptions for 444 yards and three touchdowns, and 13 kickoff returns for 258 yards.
He was drafted as the No. 12 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Lions, joining former Alabama players Jameson Williams, Isaiah Buggs, Saivion Smith, Ross Pierschbacher, and Brian Branch in Detroit.
