According to a release from the University of West Alabama, former Alabama quarterback Blake Sims and former Alabama running back Ronnie Clark will join Cochran's staff at UWA.

Sims will coach wide receivers according to a statement from West Alabama, and Clark will coach running backs for the Tigers.

Clark, a native of Calera, Alabama, was featured in the Alabama backfield from 2014-2018, playing alongside notable Crimson Tide stars such as Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake, Josh Jacobs, Najee Harris, Damien Harris, and Brian Robinson.

"Ronnie Clark played Running Back, Linebacker, and maybe even some Safety for us at Alabama," said head coach Scott Cochran in a press release. "He played all over the field but what he was really good at was bringing energy and he was always on the Leadership team. He was a coach and a player."

Clark was a part of two national championship teams and four SEC championship teams during his time at Alabama.

After his playing days, Clark secured a coaching position at Brookwood High School.

"Excited and fired up for Ronnie," Coach Cochran said. "I know that he will make the Running Backs so much better with attention, details, and playing fast and physical."

Blake Sims was a member of the Crimson Tide from 2010-2014, securing back-to-back national championships in 2011 and 2012 and two SEC championships in 2012 and 2014.

Sims was the Alabama starting quarterback in 2014. In 14 starts, he accumulated 3,487 passing yards and 28 touchdowns. He was named Second Team All-SEC in 2014 and led Alabama to an appearance in the first ever College Football Playoff.

"Blake Sims, as everyone knows, was an electric player for us at Alabama, but what he brought off the field is why he's perfect for this Wide Receiver position," Coach Cochran said. "His energy, his enthusiasm to help young men develop is going to be his biggest attribute to this organization."

"I'm crazy fired up about Blake coming to join us and help our Wide Receivers achieve greatness," Coach Cochran closed.

The gang is getting back together in Livingston, with Cochran now having four former Alabama players confirmed to his coaching staff.
