Alabama has multiple golfers on the PGA Tour, headlined by long-time pro Justin Thomas and newcomer Nick Dunlap. Dunlap joined the tour after winning The American Express. Days later, he turned pro.

Dunlap made history this past weekend, rallying on Sunday for a win in the Barracuda Championship. Dunlap is now the only player in PGA TOUR history to win as an amateur and a pro in the same year.

In an interview with the PGA after the event, Dunlap said, "I never thought that I would have my name next to that, but it’s definitely an honor. It’s been a little tough after AmEx. You kind of lose a little bit of confidence and wonder if you can do it again.”

Dunlap has missed multiple cuts on the tour, but the win at Tahoe Mountain Club is likely going to return some confidence for Dunlap.

Additionally, Dunlap has now risen to No. 41 overall in this week's Official World Gold Rankings. It is the highest an Alabama golfer not named Justin Thomas has been since the rankings started.
