Sears Named Semifinalist for Cousy Award
Tuscaloosa, Ala. - On Monday, Alabama point guard Mark Sears was named a semifinalist for one of the most prestigious awards in college basketball - the Bob Cousy Award.

The Bob Cousy Award is presented annually to the nation's top point guard in collegiate men's basketball.
The award, initially implemented in 2003, is named after six-time NBA Champion Bob Cousy. Cousy played for the Boston Celtics from 1950-1963.
Previous winners of the award include:
Jalen Brunson, Villanova
Ja Morant, Murray State
Payton Pritchard, Oregon
Tristen Newton, UConn
Netwon is the most recent winner of the award, playing his senior season for the back-to-back NCAA men's college basketball champions, the UConn Huskies.
Alabama has never had a player win the award. UNC and UConn are tied with the most winners all-time, with three apiece.
