The Tide had its first player debut in the NFL top 100 for the 2024-25 NFL season, with former national champion quarterback Tua Tagovailoa being the first former Alabama player to appear in the NFL top 100.

Tagovailoa debuted for the Crimson Tide at No. 91. He was ranked No. 31 last season.

Despite a couple of injuries keeping Tagovailoa from playing a full season, he still played in 11 games for the Miami Dolphins last season, completing a career-high 72.9% of his passes for 2,967 yards and 19 touchdowns. He boasted the second-highest rating of his career with a 101.4 rating. He also added 49 rushing yards for the 2024-25 NFL season.

Injuries have been a concern for Tagovailoa during his career, with his playing career even coming into doubt after a pair of concussions during the 2022 NFL season. Despite that, when he's healthy, Tagovailoa is viewed as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. He's in the second year of his four-year, $212.4 million contract. He's set to earn a base salary of $25 million with a cap hit of $39.1 million for the 2025-26 NFL season.

Tagovailoa is entering his sixth season in the NFL. Throughout his first six years as an NFL quarterback, Tagovailoa has completed 68.1% of his passes for 15,506 yards and 100 touchdowns.
