Tuscaloosa will also host a two-game series between the Talons and the Volts from July 22 - 23. The championship will be played in a best-of-three series from July 26-28.

Alabama softball head coach Patrick Murphy expressed his excitement for Tuscaloosa's choice as a host city earlier this week, "The best of the best in softball will be here and we hope all of our fans will join us," Murphy said in a release.

In addition to the excitement from Murphy, the city of Tuscaloosa is excited to experience an economic boost in the summer - a time typically viewed as the "offseason" in the Tuscaloosa tourism industry.

Hosting the AUSL solidifies Tuscaloosa's reputation as one of the premiere sports cities in the southeast, as well as promising the city a substantial economic boost. According to Visit Tuscaloosa, the city expects an economic impact of more than $1 million while the event also generates increased tourism and revenue. It will also create opportunities for local service providers and vendors.

“It brings us great pride when Visit Tuscaloosa has the opportunity to recruit such top-tier athletic competition to our community,” said Kelsey Rush, president and CEO of Visit Tuscaloosa. “Our Senior Sports Sales and Event Development Manager, Robins Bonner, and the team at Alabama Athletics collaborated to make this possible for the City of Tuscaloosa and Athletes Unlimited. It’s another great example of why our city is a vibrant hub for sports tourism.”

Several UA alumnae will return to Tuscaloosa after playing their collegiate ball for the Crimson Tide, including four-time All-American pitcher Montana Fouts - who plays for the Talons.

Tickets will become available on Wednesday, March 19 at 9 a.m. CT. Those interested in purchasing a ticket can do so by visiting theausl.com/alabama or via the Alabama Athletics Ticket Office.
